At low end play, this, due to the ease of learning, makes warlord appear stronger than it is. Stronger, better stablocked units who have very clearly defined strengths and weaknesses, and a very linear gameplan (Get better units, hit with overwhelming force, repeat).
Warlord is most certainly overpowered at lower skill/difficulty levels because it is a very straightforward class concept. Then you run up against dispel and physical resistant units and all those gold medal units come crashing to a halt as (insert physical resistant unit here) grinds them into paste.
